For karmayogi Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, his birthday on July 22nd was no different from another busy day. While he visited Gadchiroli this day, inaugurating and laying foundation stones for some important projects as per schedule, he asked party workers, colleagues, and well-wishers not to spend money on any lavish celebration of the day with things like banners, displays, gifts, and presents for him, and instead, organize blood donation and health check-up camps, help needy patients, or donate to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. His call generated a spurt in donations to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Devendra Fadnavis’s decisions demonstrate his sensitivity, humanitarian approach, and social commitment. His appeal to celebrate his birthday in this manner stems from his dedication to the causes of the masses. Unlike most political leaders making news with big birthday bashes, Devendra Fadnavis, the servant of Maharashtra, has set an example by celebrating his birthday through various social services. However, people from different fields of society, such as politics, social work, the business world, the film industry, and ordinary citizens, poured in their greetings. His call for help to social causes instead of his birthday celebration received a huge positive response and resulted in donations worth crores of rupees from political leaders, ministers, industrialists, district central banks, and cooperative banks, as well as party workers, supporters, and ordinary citizens, to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Maharashtra blood donation drive creates new record: 78,000 bags of blood collected in a single day
In response to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s birthday appeal, the Maharashtra BJP state office directed all party workers to organize blood donation camps across the state on July 22nd. This social service initiative collected 78,000 blood bags across Maharashtra on July 22nd. Never before in Maharashtra had such a large amount of blood been collected in a single day. It has set a new record, breaking the previous one by a Shiv Sena-led blood donation camp, which collected 25000 blood bags in a day. Also appearing in the Asia Book of Records, this unprecedented scale of blood donation in response to CM Fadnavis’s appeal proves his deeper connection with the masses and the growing awareness of people to the social causes. Apart from blood donation, free health checkup camps were also organized in some locations. These noble ways of celebrating his birthday, which will save the lives of many, underline Fadnavis’s nature to help and stand by the common people and thereby put him on a higher pedestal than his peers.

Under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, the Chief Minister’s Medical Relief Fund is providing assistance to poor and needy patients in the state. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, during the six months from January 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025, assistance worth Rs 128 crore 3 lakh 18 thousand was provided to 14,647 patients under the CM Relief Fund, Maharashtra. Now, the state government has started Chief Minister’s Medical Relief Fund Cells in every district headquarters. This is enabling assistance to needy patients at the local level itself, without having to come to Mantralaya. According to information received, ₹2.89 crore was provided to 348 patients in Buldhana district, ₹6.1 lakh to needy patients in Hingoli district, ₹1.14 crore to 116 patients in Washim district, ₹6.82 crore to Amravati, ₹33 lakh 36 thousand to 37 patients in Chandrapur district, and ₹3.5 crore to 385 patients in Latur district. Since 2017 approximately ₹99 crore has been distributed to those in need from the Chief Minister’s Medical Relief Fund in Vidarbha. Thus, the creation of the Chief Minister’s Medical Relief Fund by Devendra Fadnavis in 2014 is proving to be critical, as it tells the poor and vulnerable not to lose hope.
The celebration of his birthday this year with impactful social services is in line with his general trait of sensitivity and dedication to people’s causes, which has made him a role model of ideal leadership. The overwhelming response from people to his appeal, with huge donations to the CM’s Relief Fund, record blood donations, and record turnouts to health checkup centres, indicates citizens’ love and respect for CM Fadnavis and high confidence in his leadership. The positivity and inspiration generated by these initiatives are certainly an example for other leaders and citizens.
