Besides displaying unwavering devotion, social harmony, and immense faith by a massive number of people, these long, arduous journeys with large and heavy palkhis often create various health issues, including even deaths. The Government of Maharashtra has come forward to ensure a comfortable and safe journey for the Warkaris making their pilgrimage to Pandharpur, the abode of Lord Vitthal and his wife Rukmini. Initiatives have been undertaken to provide essential public welfare services, health care, and administrative support directly to the pilgrims during the annual Pandharpur Wari under the concept of &#8216;Gram Vikasachi Wari, Pandharichi Dari&#8217; (Rural development along the routes to the doorstep of Pandhari). To ensure their well-being during the journey, a lot of services are provided such as free medical check-ups, general health services, the Chief Minister&#8217;s &#8216;Health Rath&#8217; (mobile medical unit), bike ambulances, and physiotherapy centers, etc. Additionally, essential medical kits were distributed to the Warkaris, and special &#8216;Charan Seva&#8217; (foot-care services) facilities were arranged for those exhausted by the long trek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"808\" src=\"https:\/\/devgatha.in\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/mukhyamantri-warkari-seva-devendra-fadnavis-maharashtra-1024x808.webp\" alt=\"Maharashtra Sevak Fadnavis Warkari Welfare Initiatives\" class=\"wp-image-14571\" srcset=\"https:\/\/devgatha.in\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/mukhyamantri-warkari-seva-devendra-fadnavis-maharashtra-1024x808.webp 1024w, https:\/\/devgatha.in\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/mukhyamantri-warkari-seva-devendra-fadnavis-maharashtra-300x237.webp 300w, https:\/\/devgatha.in\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/mukhyamantri-warkari-seva-devendra-fadnavis-maharashtra-768x606.webp 768w, https:\/\/devgatha.in\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/mukhyamantri-warkari-seva-devendra-fadnavis-maharashtra.webp 1412w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:20px\"><strong>Prioritizing Hygiene Alongside Health<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prioritizing both hygiene and health, separate toilets and bathrooms for women were constructed at various points along the pilgrimage route. Continuous cleaning up and sanitization drives were undertaken to maintain cleanliness and hygiene along the entire route and in the surrounding areas. Arrangements were made for clean drinking water through water jars and tankers. Directional signage and welcome arches were installed near Palkhi halting stations and the major entry points on the highways to guide and welcome the Warkaris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:20px\"><strong>\u2018Nirmal Wari\u2019 initiative: A Journey Defined by Safety and Cleanliness\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Electricity was provided at the base camps of Palkhis (Palanquin) or the Palkhi halting stations to ensure safety at night. Additionally, disaster management teams were deployed to handle any emergencies. Initiatives such as mobile charging vans, \u2018Hirkani Kaksh\u2019 (nursing rooms), \u2018Abhang Sandhya\u2019 (devotional musical gatherings), and \u2018Shloka\u2019 display boards made this devotional journey a more memorable experience for the \u2018Warkaris.\u2019 Offering a remarkable blend of social camaraderie, cleanliness, and devotion, this \u2018Nirmal Wari\u2019 also made the darshan of the deity easier to bring joy to lakhs of \u2018Warkaris\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:20px\"><strong>A Grant of \u20b920,000 for each \u2018Dindi\u2019<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In July 2024, the Mahayuti government established the \u2018Chief Minister\u2019s Warkari Mahamandal\u2019 to implement welfare schemes with amenities for \u2018Kirtankars\u2019 and \u2018Warkaris\u2019 in the state.
